Am I the only one who feels this way?

Some of you know that I like Secular music WAY better than christian, because it normally has MUCH better beats than christian music does. For the last couple of months I've been listening to only secular music on the radio (mix 106.5). And I could feel it slowly eating at my sole, if i dare say, and really bad songs would get stuck in my head. Some of the songs would make me angry or make me think bad thoughts. SO I made a decision to try to listen to only good songs. But I will most likely still listen to secular songs as long as they don't have very very very objectionable lyrics (like Sexyback).... And yes i know that christian music has some stupid wishy washy beats and lyrics.... you don't have to understand what i am trying to say, but i just needed to get that out of my system. *sigh*

Yeah, I get what your saying. It's a tough line to draw. It seems christian isn't genuine and secular is perverted. Well, yeah I'm generalizing, but I think your right about the songs with sinful messages. Even if they have the most awsome beat they need to have a good or at least genuine message.

That's a wise and mature decision, Julia. The music we listen to really does influence our thoughts and moods and attitudes. Maybe your decision will inspire someone else to purge most secular music from their music library... It's not about listening to what makes us feel good - Being a Christian means we follow Christ... And really, would Jesus listen to songs like "Sexyback" and "Hips Don't Lie" and others?
